Astronomical Institute of the Romanian Academy
The Astronomical Institute of the Romanian Academy is conducting research activities in the following domains: Astronomy, Astrophysics, Solar Physics, Celestial Mechanics, History of Astronomy. The Institute has three observatories located in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Timişoara that include several scientific research facilities.

The “Mihai Drăgănescu” Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (ICIA) was established in 1994 as a center of competence and active dissemination of knowledge in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The main research projects of the institute are in the fields of natural language processing, machine learning and knowledge acquisition, computer-assisted training and integrated information management and geospatial technologies.

The Institute in conducting research activities in the field of physical chemistry, with working groups specialized in X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, High Performance Computing in Material Science and Catalytic processes and materials.
“Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry
Established in February 1949, the Institute has a long tradition of over fifty years in fundamental and applied research in the field of organic and inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry and physics. The Institute covers practically the whole area of macromolecular compounds science and technology, as well as of polymeric materials.
