Big polluters are now paying for the cleanup costs through CSR campaigns. But it’s still at small scale – they are using NGOs with small capacity to collect. Now, the EU regulations are changing and they need pay more and proof how much they’ve collected. This is where we are changing the game. Our model uses the excess capacity of all available fishing fleet to do the collection.
We use a proprietary algorithm based on Earth observation data and machine learning to identify areas of plastic waste. Then, based on different parameters (locations, quantity, etc.) the platform determines the collectors (fishing ships) and recyclers assigned for each intervention. Blockchain offers complete traceability and transparency of the entire process.

What we have achieved:
In 2020 we were incubated by the Parsec Accelerator (Horizon 2020 grant no 824478, supporting the creation of new Earth Observation (EO) based products and services. We have received a €10,000 financing. This has enabled to develop our solution to TRL 4 (Ideation of the technology prototype & validate it in lab as well as confirming the product/market fit after interviews with stakeholders).
In 2021, we were accelerated by the InnovationLabs Accelerator, where we won the Spin-off of the Year Award. This program has enabled us to build the MVP and reach TRL 5.
In 2022, we have received support in services being valued at €50,000 in total, including a Sub-Grant of €20,000 from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) via EIT Climate-KIC Holding B.V. (“Climate-KIC”) under KAVA 7.1.4 Black Sea ClimAccelerator. Under this program, our climate impact was assessed and we have protected our IP (registered trademark and registered design). Right now, our main challenge is to validate our prototype in a first end-to end intervention.
