District 1 of Bucharest Municipality occupies approx. 29% of the administrative area of Bucharest, which represents 70 square km. Within this territorial administrative subunit live approximately 256,333 people and in terms of school infrastructure in District 1 there are 77 schools where are aprox. 45,876 students. The main activities carried out at the level of District 1 aim at, but not limited to, the following: urban planning services, sustainable development, socio-economic development, investments, sustainable development strategies, programs, projects, administrative services, educational services and others.

What we have achieved:
The Sustainable Development Strategy of District 1 2020-3030 and the Action Plan for the operationalization of the strategy, pursues through Strategic Domain no3: "Education, research, innovation" the "development of educational infrastructure in District 1 in order to adapt it to current needs" and through Strategic Domain no5 "Environment, energy and animal protection", District 1 of Bucharest aims to create the necessary premises for a sustainable environment by implementing innovative projects such as: urban reorganization and spatial planning or new leisure spaces.
